Yeah, I eat salad now....

On Wednesday, I moved from the Xhuvani's to the Griefenburg's; two completley different families. I have been enjoying myself so much more now that I am where I am. I help make every meal, help set up for them, help clean them up, even help shop for them. I normally dont do these things even at home, but I enjoy them now for some reason.

One of my rules when I came to Germany was to never say no to any of the food and always clear my plate, whether I like it or not. Only once did I have to keep my gag relfex in check, and that was because of mushrooms. But other than that, I eat everything, and like it. At the Greifenburgs, they eat vegetables like my family eats meat. i.e. all the time. For those who know me, know that I dont like veggies unless its potatos or corn. But yeah, i eat salad now, and I like it. We had steamed broccoli for lunch, and I had seconds. So Mom, start buying more vegetables, because I like them now! Its not just veggies either, we are having fish tonight for dinner and octopus on sunday night for Birgit's birthday dinner. Im excited!

One thing that has also changed since I moved families is that we bike everywhere. Birgit set me up a bike before I arrived and a couple hours after coming to their house, we rode into town and ran errands and have been riding everywhere ever since.

I am also getting better at speaking German, although I am rather spoiled because at meals and such, Birgit, Peter, Hannah, and Lea all speak english so I can understand.

I am so much happier now that I have moved houses, but the only downside is when I am going to have to leave, I love it here.

Also, I will post recent pictures of my last couple days at the Xhuvani's and of the huge market in Münster that I go to in the morning, tomorrow evening. Also, next week, I will be going to Bremen, Germany, and the week after that I will be going to Brussels, Belgium, so look for more great pics in the future!

I hope everyone is doing okay, I miss you all a ton and cant wait to get home and see every one of you...

The Eagle Has Landed.

Why hello everyone. Glad to say that I made to Germany all in one peice.

The trip was, uhh, long, to say the least. So unbeleivably boring too. I would never recommend taking a flight as long as that, unless you are in a coma or something.

Germany is so different than America. I love how they drive, just like me, to say the least. Everything is flat here too. It makes it kind of hard to tell me way around because there is not very many landmarks and all the houses are made out of bricks.

But as far as everything else goes all is good. The downtown part of Havixbeck is really cool. It is closed off to cars, not like that is a problem though, the family's here have one car each, more bikes than people and live in walking distance of everything and a lot of public buses that can take you wherever is too long for walking.

I went to school with Anna on friday. Wow. Schools here are soooooooo different. I really like them though. As cruel as seperating kids out like fast learners and slow learners may sound somewhat cruel, it is no doubt effective in allowing the faster learners to learn to their full potential. I wish they would do that in America.

In a little bit, Anna and I and some of here friends are going to Müenster. Müenster is about a 25 minute bus ride from Havixbeck and is quite a large city. I am excited.

Went to the Griefenburgs for Hannah and Lea's Birthday party last night. It was sooooo good to see Hannah again. That and have another person who speaks english.
